Female Kickers In The NFL
First female kicker NFL could have been Carli Lloyd as many NFL teams were interested in having her as their kicker in 2019.
One NFL team offered her a spot on their pre-season roster after her video of kicking a 55-yard field goal from the joined training between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens went viral.
However, Lloyd declined the offer as she had a game with the USA Women's Nation National against Portugal. Her primary focus was on soccer at that time. According to her manager, James Galanis, she could have been the first-ever female kicker in NFL history.
Lloyd's kick impressed Gil Brandt, former Player Personnel vice president for the Dallas Cowboys. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, two-time FIFA Player of the Year, two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion, and a four-time Olympian.
Lloyd has the physical capabilities to kick in the NFL. Women have earned scholarships to kick, scored points in college and professional games, and even broken into professional coaching ranks.
