NCAA football TV schedule 2023 includes thirteen broadcasts on CBS Sports Network in Week 0 and Week 1. It is the highest for any network.

ESPN will televise eight, and FS1 will telecast seven. NBC and FOX will handle three each. Other regional networks have attained the rights to display numerous fixtures. Likewise, ESP+ will stream 31 fixtures from 31st August to 4th September.

NBC, CBS, and FOX bought the broadcasting rights for the college league's biggest games since 2013. These networks need to agree with each conference, and the financial terms for each division vary.

The Athletic reported that a six-year deal for an annual fee of $440 million was penned with Big Ten in 2016. Similarly, the following seven-year proposal with the conference is priced at over a billion dollars per year.

In context, the NFL Playoff Games on Peacock for 2023 cost Google $110 million. It is just for three wild card ties and a regular-season fixture. It shows how expensive TV rights are.

The timeouts, halftime breaks, and commercials are the main reasons for time consumption. Overtime also keeps the time running for more than the scheduled period.

On 23rd October 2021, the fixture between Penn State and Illinois resulted in 9 overtime. The final score was 20-18, favoring the latter, making it the longest overtime game in college football.

Likewise, various delays can also hamper the game time. The longest weather delay in college football was noticed in 2017. The TCU and Kansas State tie kicked off 3 hours and 55 minutes later.

Hurricanes, thunderstorms, and snowstorms are driving factors of weather delays.
