NFL draft music performers 2023 were Oleta Adams, Mötley Crüe, Fall Out Boy and Thundercat. NFL draft walk up songs were 84% hip hop with Drake ranking first.

The NFL draft in 2023 took place from the 27th to the 29th of April at Union Station, Kansas City, Missouri. 259 players were chosen in the latest draft.

The broadcasting partners for the huge event included ESPN and its sister channel, ABC, and NFL Network.

In, 1936 the league owners decided to set up an annual draft. Since then, it has been a routinely followed event that grew its impact over time.

Millions of people tune into their television to watch this fun and exciting affair. And music artists elevate entertainment through their performances.

During the previous draft held in 2022, Marshmello, Weezer, and Ice Cube performed in the draft concert series.


2014 Walk Up Songs

2014 NFL draft song was 'The Man' by Aloe Blacc. The first overall pick of Houston Texans Jadeveon Clowney chose this song for his grand entrance.

Simply, walk-up songs are the songs that are played as the newly drafted athletes walk and make their grand entrance at the center stage as their names are called.

During the drafting process of the National Football League, the draftees of the first round are allowed to choose their own walk-up music. This tradition started around a decade ago back in 2014.

As the players walk on stage, the choice of music was played. The 79th annual meeting to recruit new players was held at Radio City Music Hall from the 8th of May to the 10th.

After Jadeveon, Greg Robinson, the second person to be drafted by St. Louis Rams chose 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams.

2014 Commercial Music

NFL draft commercial song 2014 was The Man by Aloe Blacc. The track was used as the backgrounds score as the Beats by Dre commercial video ran.

Blacc is a Grammy-nominated artist who specializes in hip-hop, soul, pop, and R&B; genre. Not only 'The Man' but many of his songs have been featured in several commercials.

Beats by Dre is an audio product manufacturing company that mostly sells music equipment like headphones and speakers.

Every time the network went on a break, they played Beats by Dre commercial with 'The Man' song.

Colin Kaepernick, the former quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers was featured in the video flaunting the headphones.

However, it turned out to be one of the biggest controversies because Colin was supposed to wear the Beats by Dre headphones but he did not.

He wore another brand's headphones but covered the name with tape. Kaepernick was charged $10,000 dollars by NFL for not wearing the Beats by Dre headphones.

NFL Draft 2023 Songs

2023 NFL draft songs include Lift Up Your Voice and Sing by Oleta Adams. Brittney Spencer, Lost Wax, Fall Out Boy and Thundercat also performed.

Before the commencement of the most awaited event, Oleta Adams sang 'Lift Up Your Voice and Sing'.

A rock band named Fall Out Boy was the first to perform at the opening round on the 27th of April. Day 1 saw the selection of 31 future NFL players.

After the end of the third round on the 28th of April, Mötley Crüe, a heavy metal band based in Hollywood, California showcased their performances.

In the meantime, Lost Wax was the official NFL Draft band for the event at the draft theater. They performed between draft selections on the 3-day long event.

During the third day of the NFL Draft Concert Series, an American bassist called Thundercat performed.

Oleta Adams

Oleta is a Grammy-nominated singer based in Kansas City. Born on 4 May 1953, she found success through the single 'Woman in Chains' which she sang along with Orzabal.

Per Pro Football Network Adams has rich gospel roots. She released her first album Circle of One in 1990.

The 'Lift Up Your Voice and Sing' song is also known as the Black National Anthem. Brittney Spencer also sang the national anthem along with Adams during the opening festivities.

NFL Draft Walk Up Songs

NFL draft walk up music were created by the combined effort of Spotify and the NFL in 2021. When I think about it by Future is placed in the number 1 position.

Similarly, La Familia by Jay-Z, Return of the Mack Song by Mark Morrison and Coming Home by Anthony Hamilton are also on the list.

Since 2014, Drake has been the most popular with 18 sportsmen choosing his music. In 2014, 2017, and 2019, five of his songs were used each year.

Per Genius, most of the wide receivers and cornerback-positioned players preferred him. Quarterbacks were the third to pick him.

Besides Drake, Future was picked my most of the players. Rich Homie Quan, Meek Mill, and Lil Wayne are also the top choices among players.

Song In NFL Draft Commercial

NFL draft commercial song for 2023 is Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band. A light lager beer company called Bud Light used this song for advertisement.

In the commercial, it can be seen that a group of friends opens the beer can as they enjoy it during a music festival. It was a 30-second video.

The ad was played during the opening round of the drafting process. When it was posted online, it was widely watched on YouTube but it received huge criticisms.

ESPN NFL Draft Song

ESPN NFL draft commercial song was also Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band. A user @ViciousFord tweeted that ESPN also ran Heart Like a Truck song on their commercial.

In 2019 ESPN used Old Town Road as the official song for the draft. For the last 45 years, ESPN has been covering the draft.
