Chicago Bears Quarterbacks Last 10 Years are Jay Cutler, Matt Barkley, and Justin Fields. Justin made his NFL debut in 2021.

One of the NFL oldest franchises, the Bears made their debut in the 1920 season. They have had 84 different starting quarterbacks in their history. However, Jim McMahon was the only QB to lead them to a Super Bowl victory.

The Bears are currently in the NFC North division which they joined in 2002. They have won four division titles and one conference title since then.

Some of the greatest QBs to ever play for the Bears comprise Jim McMahon, Jim Hargaugh, Rex Grossman, Jay Cutler, and Sid Luckman.

Jay Cutler

One of the greatest Bears QB of all time Jay Cutler joined the Bears in 2009 and played there for 8 seasons.

Cutler led the role of starting quarterback from 2009 to 2015. During these years, he was the offense leader and had several records with the team including the most career passing yards (23,443), and career completions of 2,020.

In his first season as a Starting Qb, Jay registered 3,666 passing yards along with 27 touchdowns and 26 interceptions as well.

The third-best QB prospect in the 2006 NFL draft has recorded a career completion percentage of 62% along with 35,133 yards and 227 TDs' in his entire career with the Broncos, Bears, and Dolphins.

During his collegiate years, the Indiana native 40-year-old QB became the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2005. He got honored as the 100 Greatest Bears of All-Time in 2019.

Mitchell Trubisky

Mitchell Trubisky began his journey as a starting QB for the Chicago Bears and led the team until the 2020 season. Trubisky was drafted in 2017.

Trubisky's four seasons for the Bears saw him registering 10,609 passing yards with 64 touchdowns and 37 interceptions.

Likewise, Trubisky showed exceptional leadership during his four seasons with the Bears and holds numerous records for career passer rating and career competition percentage of 87.2 and 64% respectively.

One of his biggest achievements features the QB helping the Bears win the NFC North division title in 2018 and earning a Pro Bowl selection that same year.

The Qb is currently enrolled with the Pittsburgh Steelers since the 2022 season. Before that, he played one season with the Buffalo Bills as a backup quarterback.

Rex Grossman

The 2003 first-round NFL Draft quarterback Rex Grossman played as a starting quarterback in all 16 games of the 2006 season for the Chicago Bears.

During the season, Rex successfully recorded his career-highest 3,193 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

Rex achieved 863 passes out of 1,562 pass attempts in his NFL career. Grossman lost his career's first Super Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts in 2006.

After a disappointing performance in 2007, Grosman lost his starting QB position and did not regain it until 2011 with the Washington Redskins.

Before his NFL career, Grossman was recognized as the AP College Football Player of the Year, SEC Player of the Year, and also named the consensus All-America in 2001.

The former quarterback Jim Harbaugh played backup for the Bears during his early year in NFL since the 1987 NFL Draft. As a backup, he played in 10 games and completed 47 of 97 passes for 514 yards and two interceptions.

After serving as a backup for Jim McMahon and Mike Tomczak in 1988 and 1989, the QB got his chance to shine as the starter in 1990. He held the position until the end of the 1993 season.

The Qb Erik Kramer spent almost five years with the Chicago Bears from 1994 to 1998. He played two seasons as a 2nd string for Steve Walsh and Dave Krieg.

In his nine games as a Bears backup, Kramer threw for 1,910 yards, 11 TDs, and 14 interceptions. He started 74 games for the team in his career.

Other Backup QBs

The veteran QB Sid Luckman spent almost 12 seasons with the Bears from 1939 to 1950. He helped the franchise win four NFL championships in his career.

Luckman was the main starter for the team from 1939 to 1948 except for one season when he backed up Johny Lujack.

Similarly, the Chicago Bears QB P.J Walker is listed as the top ten best backups quarterback for the 2023 season. As of today, Walker has gained a career completion percentage of 57.5 in NFL games.

The former Bears backup quarterback Andy Dalton was also ranked the best backup QB in the league. He spent only one season with the Bears as a backup of rookie Justin Field in the 2021 season.

Dalton played in 8 games and passed for 1,515 passing yards, 8 Tds, and 9 interceptions with 63.1 passing completions.

The Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields played as a starting quarterback since the 2022 season. However, Fields began his NFL journey as a backup QB for Andy Dalton in the 2021 season.

Fields played his career first NFL game against the Los Angeles Rams. He registered five-yard rushing touchdowns and completed 10 yards.

Likewise, in 2022, he played 15 games and had 192 passes completed along with 2,242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The 24-year-old QB is also on the list of one of only three NFL quarterbacks to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season.

Fields has an impressive college football record at Georgia and Ohio State. There he gained a total of 5,701 passing yards, 67 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

The QB became the Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year in 2019 and 2020 during college football time. He was also named the second-team All-American and first-team All-Big 10 twice.

Qbs Behind Fields

PJ Walker is the 2nd string QB who joined the Chicago Bears with two-year contact in the 2023 season. He previously played for the Colts and Panthers.

Walker has played a total of 15 games in his NFL career. Last year, he appeared in 6 games and recorded 731 yards with three TDs and three interceptions.

Walker initially began his college football journey as a backup to Connor Reilly. However, in Week 6, he got the team starting position against Cincinnati. He gained 10,668 passing yards, 74 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions with a 56.9 completion percentage.

Just behind him, Nathan Peterman will be ready to serve position No. 3 as a Qb in the 2023 season.

As of 2023, Nathan was involved in three NFL franchises: Buffalo Bills for two seasons, Las Vegas Raiders for four seasons, and now he is serving as the Bears' backup QB.

A Florida native, Peterman played a total of 13 games while achieving 712 passing yards and 4 TDs with a passer rating of 39.4.

Then comes newly joined NFL QB Tyson Bagent. He made a contract with the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2023.

The 23-year-old young talented footballer played as a starting QB during his college football career at Shepherd Rams.

During his five-year career there, he concluded his college career with a record of 17,034 passing yards and 159 TDs, while throwing 48 interceptions.
