NFL Players On Pup List 2023
NFL players on Pup list are 1. Emmanuel Moseley 2. Breece Hall 3. Duane Brown and more.
These athletes have sustained injuries during their NFL career (during practice sessions or in-game), and thus are placed on PUP list for this year's preseason. Only time will tell whether they will be fit to come back into the field for the regular season.
Here are some players that are designated in the team's PUP list for the 2023 NFL pre-season:
| Player | Team Name |
| JK Dobbins | Baltimore Ravens |
| Chase Claypool | Chicago Bears |
| Emmanuel Moseley | Detroit Lions |
| Breece Hall | New York Jets |
| Duane Brown | New York Jets |
| Chidobe Awuzie | Cincinnati Bengals |
| La'el Collins | Cincinnati Bengals |
| Randall Cobb | New York Jets |
| CJ Uzomah | New York Jets |
1. Breece Hall
Breece Hall is on the PUP list for the New York Jets training camp in the 2023 preseason.
Hall has continued to be on the PUP since his brutal injury to his knee in the 2022 season Week 7 match against Denver Broncos that took place on 23 October. Breece suffered a torn ACL that effectively sidelined him for the rest of the regular season.
Touted as the great candidate for the Offensive Rookie Player of the Year, Breece accumulated 463 rushing yards in his debut year alone and was looking to join the 1000-yard players soon. He also made 4 rushing touchdowns and displayed 66.1 yards per game.
In the match where he got injured against Broncos, Hall displayed a brilliant rushing TD for 62 yards in the first quarter with 7:34 time remaining. During his recovery time, the Jets have seen RB Dalvin Cook as a prospect.
2. Chase Claypool
Chase Claypool is a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears and is the only player in the Bears PUP list as of 24 July.
Having played in NFL for 3 years, Claypool joined the Bears in 2022, after leaving Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bears have not disclosed his actual cause for injuries, but CBS Sports report it as apparent soft tissue injuries.
Claypool registered 140 receiving yards for the Chicago Bears in 2022, from 14 receptions and 7 games. He has yet to score a touchdown with his new team. For the Steelers, Claypool played 39 games in total and made 2044 receiving yards and 12 TDs.
3. Randall Cobb
Randall Cobb is a Wide Receiver for the New York Jets who has been placed on the Physically Unable To Perform List.
Cobb has suffered from an ankle injury and is still in rehab since the surgery. Considered QB Aaron Rodgers' favorite, Randall recently joined the Jets team to play with his partner. However, his condition may put his play status to a halt.
An NFL veteran playing since 2011, Cobb played the majority of his years (10 years) at Green Bay Packers along with Rodgers. He only spent 1 year each at Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans.
In 2022, Cobb played 13 games and scored 1 receiving TD from 34 receptions and 417 yards. He gained 32.1 yards per game on average. His personal best season came in 2014, with 12 TDs and 1287 yards.
4. Duane Brown
Offensive Left Tackle Duane Brown is the third player in the New York Jets designated as PUP for the 2023 pre-season.
Brown is out of the playing field due to a shoulder injury last year, that effectively led him to miss the rest of the season. During the offseason, Duane has been recovering from the surgery and needs to rest since his position is prone to heavy body contact.
Playing 12 games last season, Duane appeared in 746 snaps for the Jets and was available for 99% of the total offensive snaps.
5. Chidobe Awuzie
Chidobe Awuzie is the Cincinnati Bengals Cornerback who is out for the pre-season training camps due to a knee injury.
Playing only 8 games in 2022, Awuzie missed half of the season due to a torn ACL and will be unable to practice at the pre-season due to recovery efforts. To compensate for his starter position, the Bengals are looking towards involving rookie DJ Turner II.
Awuzie made 0 interceptions last year but showcased 29 solo tackles and 5 passes defended. He has been playing in the league since 2017 and joined the Bengals in 2021 from Dallas Cowboys.
6. La'el Collins
La'el Collins is the offensive tackle and the second player in the PUP for Cincinnati Bengals this year.
Collins is absent from the training camp duties due to rehabbing from a torn ACL. The Bengals have replaced his position role to Jonah Williams at the moment.
Last year, La'el started 15 games for the Bengals and was present in 91% of the total offensive snaps, i.e. 951. Collins joined his new team in 2022 from the Cowboys, where he had played since 2015.
